Encouraging The Body Of Christ And Seeing Lost Souls Saved

The Hodsdons are a family singing group with a heart for ministry. The Hodsdons music is rooted in traditional ”southern gospel” and ”light contemporary” music – a blended style that makes The Hodsdons a gospel group that fits perfectly in nearly all multi-generational worship settings.  Known for their ability to provide a worship experience with an intimate setting, The Hodsdons have a strong desire to encourage the body of Christ and see lost souls saved.  “We want people to enjoy what they see and hear; it’s a requirement with what we do, however, that’s not our ultimate goal.  Our objective is to present the gospel through song and testimony, and to give those who are lost and hurting the opportunity to know Jesus in a real and personal way”.
Tim and Camela Hodsdon recently served as interim worship leaders at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, FL where they have been attending for many years.  Tim recently stated, “It was an honor and a privilege to serve for over a year alongside my wife in the church we grew up in.  We learned so much from our pastors, Dr. Homer G. Lindsay, Jr. and Dr. Jerry Vines, and also from our minister of music, Rodney Brooks.  It truly was a blessing to give back and share that with others.”  Tim went on to say, “While we enjoyed our time leading worship, our desire and commitment to go out and share the gospel stayed strong.  We are very excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for  this ministry.”
Over the years, The Hodsdons have had the privilege of working with artists and evangelists such as Jason Crabb, Michael English, Karen Peck & New River, The Kingdom Heirs, Brian Free & Assurance, Bailey Smith, The Bowling Family, Jeff & Sheri Easter, The Nelons, and more. “We are very excited about where we are headed.  The Lord keeps opening doors that we could not open on our own.  He has a plan for us and we can’t wait to see what’s around the corner, said Camela.”
Don’t miss the opportunity to have The Hodsdons at your church or event.

Tim Hodsdon

Tim grew up in Gainesville, FL where he displayed a love for music at an early age.  He started playing piano when he was four years old and competed in several piano competitions where he earned the association’s highest honors.  Additionally, he was active in his church choir and music program.  He came to know the Lord during summer youth camp at Lake Yale and has always had the desire to serve Him.

He moved to Jacksonville, FL during his junior year of high school where he starting attending First Baptist Church of Jacksonville.  He was very involved in the youth group, the 300 plus member youth choir, and was selected to sing in the boys and mixed ensembles under the leadership of Rodney Brooks (First Baptist of Atlanta).   “That was one of the best times in my life.  The things I experienced during that time has played a huge part in making me who I am today”, said Tim.

Tim has been a partner in ministry with his wife, Camela, for over eleven years where his main tasks consisted of driving, carrying luggage, working in the sound booth, and anything else that was required. He’s still responsible for those same duties today, but has added an even greater assignment – singing with his wife. He recently stated, “We’ve known for a long time that this is where the Lord was leading us and we’re thrilled to be doing this now as a family.  We’ve had a very positive response to the addition and it adds a new dynamic to an already great foundation.  We’re excited about what the Lord is doing in our lives and ministry.”

Camela Hodsdon

Camela grew up at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, FL where she came to know the Lord at the age of seven.  It was at church where she fell in love with music. Camela auditioned for her first solo under the Minister Of Music, Rodney Brooks (First Baptist Church of Atlanta). She earned the part and her first solo was sung in front of a crowd of 5000 pastors assembled for the annual Pastors Conference.  Later that year, Camela was called into evangelistic music ministry.

Camela has followed her calling and has been involved in a solo ministry that has given her the opportunity to sing for various churches, Pastors Conferences, Women’s Conferences, revivals, festivals, Fellowship of Christian Athletes events, and athletic events. She has also sung in various singing groups over the years.

Camela studied voice and piano for years in Jacksonville and has also attended the Steve Hurst School of Music in Nashville for vocal study.  In addition, Camela has worked as a DJ and Assistant Program Director for a Southern Gospel radio station. During that time she was able to interview various Christian artists and write several articles for Christian magazine publications. Some of these artists include Sandi Patty, East to West, and TRUTH’s Roger Breland. She has also worked for Becky Simmons at Century II Talent and Booking Agency in Nashville, TN.

Camela is the wife of Tim Hodsdon and the proud mother of their two precious children.

Ashley Hodsdon

Eleven year old Ashley Hodsdon is Tim and Camela’s oldest child.  Ashley is a fun, high spirited little girl. She never meets a stranger and meets new friends wherever she goes.

Ashley loves the Lord and loves to sing and play piano for Him. You will find her singing and playing a song or two with her parents during most of their concerts. Make sure to stop by the table and meet Ashley next time you see the Hodsdons in concert, she’ll be glad you did.

Chandler Hodsdon

Chandler is starting young.  He was born into a musical family, so he doesn’t really know much more than that.  He feels comfortable on the stage and fights with his big sister for singing time.  He measures in at a staggering 3 ft, but doesn’t let that stop him from singing into the microphone.  Often, he’ll stand at the bottom of the mic stand, staring up at it and give it all he’s got.  We are praying for the Lord to use him in a mighty way.
